If you have outdoor lighting then you already know how beneficial it can be. The right type and amount of lighting can make all the difference in the world. When you first choose to install outdoor lights, you may err on the side of caution. Perhaps you only installed a few key fixtures to begin with just to see exactly how it would look. However, now that you’ve been awakened to the beauty that it brings, Outdoor Lighting Perspectives of Wilmington wants to demonstrate how going a step further can really give your home that extra boost.
Adding additional outdoor lighting fixtures can enhance your home further. Recently a home owner who had our landscape lighting installed came to us. They wanted to see if adding a few more fixtures would be the right choice for them. We were more than happy to help in this decision. Their home already
had outdoor lighting in the front and back, a few fixtures around their trees, and some path lights. The lights provided a stunning display of their yard and home. But now they wanted to showcase the beautiful columns in the front of their home. Their one story home would appear larger with the columns being lit from the bottom up. We gladly brought over a few spot lights to demonstrate how that could be done. By providing them with an array of different wattage, we were able to find the best light possible. A light that shines too bright will leave hot spots and one that shines too low will look dull. We left our fixtures and bulbs with the homeowner a few nights so they could see exactly how it would look before making a final decision. We want to make sure our customers know exactly what they’re getting.
We wound up installing four new fixtures to the home. It was a familiar process to us, but there was something unique about this system: The transformer for the lights was in the back of the home. The wiring in the front of the home was already being used by their current outdoor lighting fixtures. In order to install the new lights without diminishing the older ones, we retrofitted several existing path lights to LEDs. These energy-efficient bulbs use less energy. With this switch the new lights would be able to function while the current ones wouldn’t dull in the slightest. When all was said and done the home appeared stunningly beautiful.
Adding a few more lighting fixtures to an existing system is not uncommon. You want your home looking its best and sometimes that means increasing your outdoor lighting fixtures.
