Every year, thousands of houses participate in Holden Beach’s holiday decorations contest. From a few festive string-lights hung on the roof by Dad to elaborate, expertly-crafted outdoor lighting designs, the contest is a blast for the whole family. This year, we’re proud to present the winning installation, designed and crafted by yours truly, Outdoor Lighting Perspectives of Wilmington.
The view from the front of this beautiful home shows how we infused a bit of style into several traditional pieces of décor. The garland strung along the balcony is illuminated as is the row of hedges on the perimeter of the property and a few festive wreaths don the windows and door for an extra cozy welcome home. It’s easy to see how this home stands out from the others on the block with all of its added warmth and holiday cheer.
From the back, this festive house really glows. Rather than looking like a scrooge this Christmas, this home really lights up the block. These homeowners got creative with fun holiday colors that are impossible to pass by without turning your head. It’s impossible to miss the beautiful balconies and staircases that make this home unique.
We’ve seen the best and the worst in outdoor lighting this year. Some homes already had beautiful systems installed and just needed an extra touch of style to really make them shine. We’re also lucky to have had the opportunity to help make homes all over the Wilmington area safer – whether it was a matter of replacing bad fixtures or lighting up tricky spots in the yard.
Our biggest takeaway from lighting up homes in 2013 is the value of LED. In addition to bringing a bigger, brighter look to your home, LED bulbs last longer and are more energy-efficient that conventional bulbs. While we offer both types of products, we highly recommend making the switch to LED for the new year – especially if one of your New Year Resolutions is to become more energy efficient this year.
As the end of the year is fast approaching, we also want to take the time to thank all of our clients for your business and letting us light up your homes. It’s been a great year for Outdoor Lighting Perspectives of Wilmington, and we’re looking forward to a bright 2014!
